Stained Glass

I have my fair share of cracks and scars. I’ve been drowned, suffocated, frozen beneath a lake. I’ve been through fire and storms, Sha...

The Storm Is Raging

The storm is coming
I cannot bear the wind
I'm picked up
Taken away
It's hard to go back
Where am I safe?
Nowhere to go
No place to hide
I'm struck
Gone
No one has noticed

Happy Birthday Ashley

This is to my best friend, Ashley.

It's your birthday,
It's time to celebrate,
Your smile is like a sun ray,
Our friendship is an open gate.

Your laugh is the best,
Better than the rest.
We do odd things together,
But as long as we're together,
I have fun.

Don't let anyone tell you that you are anything less than perfect.
You were made by God.
You were made the way you were supposed to be made.
You are one of the best people I know.

This is a short and corny poem,
But still,
With you,
I'm at home.

Here I Am at Lunch

Here I am at lunch,
Sitting all alone.
My friends walk in front of me,
Yet they still don't see.

Here I am at lunch,
sitting all alone.
I've had no one to sit with me for weeks.
No one sees the girl in the corner.

Worries

I have friends
But do I have enough?
I have stuff
But is it the thing that's "in?"
It doesn't matter how many friends you have
What's "in"
Know who you are
Keep your identity safe and secure

Sometimes I Need To Be Invited

I may look like I'm okay
But I'm so alone
It's not like I want it this way
I am on my own

You are having your fun
Mine has never begun
While you're on Snapchat
I'm under this flimsy hat

I don't try to hide my face
I just like my own space
Sometimes from being introvert I run
But sometimes I just want to have fun

Sometimes I need to be invited
There's nothing I want more
This candle in me needs to be lighted
I can't do it but for you I'll open the door

The Sun Rises

The sun rises,
Pushing the stars to where they now lie, and
The glow over the earth seems as though it shall never die.

The ball of which lights up my whole day,
Rises over the trees, and
Awakens the town,
Glow shimmering over the lake.
The sky,
orange.

You Are

You are the stars to my ink black night
You are the hope when I'm hopeless
You are the blinding light when it's only darkness
You are the words on my blank page
You are the notes to my music
You are the blanket to my bed
You are the solution to my mystery
You are the song to my dance

I Hope In The Future

I had a great time tonight,
The dance was a blast!
Of all the people,
You were the brightest light.
Around you,
It feels just right.

I hope one day,
Together we will fly a kite,
And soar in the Sun's rays.
It would feel just right.

I hope one day,
Together we will run in the sand,
The lake fog blinding us,
But sometime earlier than May.
It would feel just right.

I hope one day,
We will trust one another to lead,
And the other follow.
It would feel just right.

I hope
It will feel just right

Now You Know

Now you know my deepest secret
That the "some guy" is you
Now that you know it
I hope you know what I say is true

I don't want anything to change between us
I care about you to the stars and back
I want to be able to talk to you
I don't want our openness to lack

I know we're young
And middle school is almost done
But before we go to high school
I want you to know
I never stop thinking about you

What I say
Is true

Note: This the most true poem I have ever written. Every word. I mean what I wrote.

First Love

I never knew what love was,
And then I meet this amazing guy in my childhood,
We lost connection for a while until junior high.
Then when I saw him,
It was like I met him all over again.
A new guy since then,
A new story,
A new love,
A new day.

Difficult Love

I want to tell you I love you,
It really is true.
But not ruining this friendship,
It is brand new.

You ask me to the dance,
And I say yes.
I take a chance,
To show you I like you,
As I wear this dress.

Now I write you this poem,
I hope you like it,
I have spoken,
Now what are you thinking?

Take Me Back, Friend

The friends who were there for me,
Cared about me,
Wanted me,
Am I not good for them.

I have made many mistakes, yes,
I have made a mess.
I am not worthy to be anyone's friend,
But I don't want this friendship to be the end.

I care.
There aren't many like me,
They are rare.

I would do anything to have another chance.
But I blew it,
I know it.
I know this is where we stand.

Not sure if you want to ever see me again,
But I do want to say this,
"I will care about you until the end."

Living Water

Rain drops smack the ground, and
Leaves dance in the wind.
Ink clouds block out the sun as
Drops of water flood the roads.
Booming of thunder,
Lightens to a pitter patter.
A flash!
A shout like a canon!
The storm fades.
